Whitehall Township Public Library: Library to hold Intro to Genealogy class
Join us 6:30 p.m. this evening, March 30, for Intro to Genealogy. Learn how to research your family history with our Ancestry and Heritage Quest databases. Using these, you can find a variety of records including military, census, public trees and photos.
The library has access to both databases, but Ancestry has to be used inside the library. Heritage Quest may be used at home with an active library card.

This is a two-hour class.

A class titled Cutting Cable is planned for 6:30 p.m. April 11. Systems Librarian Jim Gilbert will show you the alternate online services that can get you many of the same cable channels, but for less money. The library has a few laptops that patrons can use for these classes, but we encourage you to bring your own.

Adult library bingo will be held 6:30 p.m. April 10 in the reference area of the library. We will be using book titles, authors, pictures from famous books, etc., as the bingo. Each patron will receive a bingo card and Hershey Kisses as chips - and yes, you may take the candy home!

We have a patron survey form for folks to fill out either online or on paper. Please complete it whenever you have time to help us serve you better.
Go to our website, whitehallpl.org, or pick up a copy the next time you are in the library. Drop the completed survey in the box near the circulation desk. We value your comments.

Thank you to all who have contributed boxes of food for our students. But more is needed. The library will continue gathering items for the Snack Pack Pals program. We are helping the Whitehall-Coplay School District students who are in need of nutritious foods to alleviate severe hunger needs during long weekends when free breakfast and lunch are not available at the school.
If you would like to make a food donation, see the list below and drop off donations during regular library hours. Items needed are shelf-stable milk boxes, macaroni and cheese (boxes and individual packets), Chef Boyardee (cans and microwaveable bowls), small boxes of cold cereal, fruit cups, applesauce cups, juice boxes/pouches, fruit snacks, packs of cheese/peanut butter crackers, graham crackers, granola bars and gallon-size resealable bags. The next long weekend is Easter/spring break, April 14-17.
