Thomas F. Proscia

Thomas F. Proscia, 93, of Whiting, N.J., a resident of Fellowship Community, Whitehall, died March 24, 2017, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

Born March 5, 1924, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Alexander and Santina (Scianimeo) Proscia.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II as a private first class.

A graduate of St. John’s University with a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, he was a chemical salesman for SCM Chemical Co. for many years before retiring.

He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Manchester Township, N.J.

His survivors include daughters Stephanie S. Iacobelli and her husband, Frank, of Schnecksville, Cathy G. Proscia of Wayland, Mass.; sister Anna Rendeiro of Allentown, N.J.; grandsons Jesse Simmons of San Francisco, Calif., and Sam Simmons of Newtonville, Mass.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. April 1 at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 4456 Main S. (Egypt) Whitehall.

The Rev. Msgr. Daniel J. Yenushosky will be the celebrant.

Family and friends may pay their respects 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday in Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc. 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville.

Private interment with military honors will be at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, N.J.
