Thomas F. Proscia, 93, of Whiting, N.J., and currently a resident of Fellowship Community, Whitehall, died March 24, 2017, at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest, Allentown. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a son of the late Alexander and Santina (Scianimeo) Proscia.
He was a private first class in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from St. John’s University.
He was a chemical salesman for SCM Chemical Company for many years until he retired.
He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Manchester Township, New Jersey.
He is survived by two daughters, Stephanie S. and her husband Frank Iacobelli of Schnecksville and Cathy G. of Wayland, Mass.; a sister, Anna Rendeiro of Allentown, N.J.; and two grandsons, Jesse Simmons of San Francisco, Calif., and Sam Simmons of Newtonville, Mass.
There will be calling hours 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. March 31 in the funeral home, 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. April 1 at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 4456 Main St., (Egypt) Whitehall.
Arrangements were made by Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., Schnecksville.
