Loraine M. Weiss
Loraine M. Weiss, 69, of Bethlehem, died March 21, 2017, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem.
She and her husband George M. Weiss Jr. were married 43 years in February.
Born in Allentown, and raised in Germansville, she was the daughter of the late Elwood and Mary (Wanamaker) Gross.
She was a graduate of Northwestern Lehigh High School, New Tripoli.
A member of St. Matthew’s United Church of Christ, Kunkletown, she attended Bible studies and she was a former member of East Hills Moravian Church, Bethlehem, where she sang with the choir and helped in the church nursery.
Her faith in God was important to her and she prayed for everyone she knew.
Last employed by Atria Assisted Living, Bethlehem, she was formerly employed at Bell Telephone and for the former Acme Markets.
She loved country music, her son Jason’s two dogs, Duke and Titan, swimming and vacations on Long Beach Island, N.J.
She also loved attending concerts and summer carnivals, basket raffles, penny parties, discussing family history and talking to everyone she met.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter Candace; sons Brandon and Jason, all of Bethlehem; brother Joel Gross and wife, Charlotte, of Bethlehem; brother, Dean Gross and wife, Lisa, of New Tripoli; nieces and nephews; one great-niece; and many beloved cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Services will be 11 a.m. March 30 at Christ’s Church at Lowhill, 4695 Lowhill Church Road, New Tripoli.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Thursday in the church.
Interment will follow the service in Lowhill Cemetery.
