Albert M. “Al” Lewis, 74, of Slatington, formerly of Middlesex, N.J., died March 27, 2017, in Luther Crest Health Center, South Whitehall.

He and his wife Patricia (Sipe) Lewis were married 50 years last June 18.

Born Sept. 30, 1942, in Williamstown, Dauphin County, he was the son of the late Albert A. and Iva (Miller) Lewis.

He was employed by CHANEL Inc., headquartered in Piscataway, N.J. before retiring in 2001.

For several years in the mid 1960s, he taught mathematics at William Allen High School.

He was a past president and volunteer of the Middlesex Little League, Middlesex, and a member of the Copeechan Fish and Game Club, Schnecksville.

He was an avid fisherman and loved Penn State football.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Suzanne L. Hammond and her husband, Michael, of Slatington; son Darren M. Lewis and his wife, Amy, of Bridgewater, N.J.; and grandchildren Cory and Ryan Hammond, and Riley, Addison and Skylar Lewis.

His service will be private. There will be no calling hours.
