WESTERN SALISBURY COLUMN

The Salisbury Recreation Advisory Committee will host a community Easter Egg Hunt for Salisbury residents ages three to 10. The hunt begins 10 a.m. April 8 at Lindberg Park. The event is weather permitting. Pre-registration is required by April 5. The form can be found on the Salisbury Township website.

The Pennsylvania System of School Assessment testing in English/Language Arts will begin April 4 for students in grades three to eight at Western Salisbury Elementary School and Salisbury Middle School. Encourage your students to do their best.

The kindergarten, first and second grade classes of WSE will perform their spring concert 2 p.m. March 29 in the school gym.

SMS will host a dance/activity night 7 to 9 p.m. March 31.

The end of the third marking period for Salisbury High School and SMS has been moved to April 3 due to the snow days used.

April 3 is also an operations committee meeting 7 p.m. in the administration building.

The first grade students at WSE are excited to invite their parents to lunch April 11. Lunch begins promptly 11:30 a.m.

The PTA of WSE will have a general meeting followed by an ice cream social starting 6 p.m. April 11.

Spring break for Salisbury Township schools has changed a little. April 12 will now be a 12:15 p.m. early dismissal for the high school and middle schools only. April 13 is an early dismissal for all schools. SHS and SMS will dismiss the students 12:15 p.m. WSE and Harry S Truman Elementary School will dismiss 1 p.m. This is a snow make-up day. Lastly, all schools will be closed April 14 and 17.

The Devonshire drop-off will open April 1 and 4. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church will hold a community breakfast 8 to 11 a.m. April 8. A donation is suggested. All proceeds will benefit the Allentown Ecumenical Food Bank.
