Mark R. Ruth Sr., 87, of Emmaus, died March 24, 2017, in Lehigh Valley Inpatient Hospice. He was the husband of Elsie E. (Schmaldinst) Ruth. They were married for 66 years. Born in Emmaus, he was the son of the late Clarence and Margaret (Miller) Ruth.

He worked for Mack Trucks, Inc. for 33 years.

He was a member of Zion’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Old Zionsville.

He was a life member of Citizens Fire Co. #2, Emmaus.

He is survived by his wife; son, Mark R. Jr. and his wife Cynthia, of Vera Cruz; brother, John and his wife Marie, of Emmaus; sister, Elsie Godusky, of Emmaus; grandchildren, Aaron and Nathan Reynolds and Abraham and Jordan; three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Sharon D. Reynolds.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. March 29 in Zion’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5901 Kings Highway South, Old Zionsville, 18068. A viewing will be held 10 to 11 a.m. March 29 in the church. Arrangements were made by the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus.
