Evangelist David Brady, of Central City, will be the guest speaker for special services March 26-31 at Northampton Assembly of God, 3449 Cherryville Road. Services will be held 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday and 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Brady has previously conducted special meetings in the church. He grew up in a dysfunctional and alcoholic home, and by the age of 15, he was on the streets using drugs and alcohol. One night, while drinking with his friends in the woods, he felt empty inside.
He recalled, “The more that I drank, the more empty I felt. I began smashing beer bottles against the trees, yelling, ‘There has to be more to life than this!’” That Sunday morning, as he returned home from drinking all night, he heard the bells of a church compelling him to come. There, at the age of 18, he heard the message of salvation, he said.
