Robert M. Walbert, 90, of Lower Macungie Township, died at home March 14, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Marie E. I. (Rothenberger) Walbert. The couple would have celebrated 70 years of marriage in June. Born in Topton, he was the son of the late Paul B. and Clara M. (Fretz) Walbert.

He was a member of Solomon’s United Church of Christ, Macungie and was an Army veteran serving during World War II.

He was a carpenter, working for Harold Blacker 32 years until retiring.

He was a former chief of the Macungie Fire Company and was a life member of the Macungie VFW.

He is survived by his wife; children, Linda and her husband Leslie Haberstumpf, Barry, Ricky and his wife, Alice, William and his wife, Pamela and Kathy and her husband Gary Ladigan; sisters, Jane Englert and his twin, Betty Rohrbach; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by 13 siblings.
