Nathan Brown filed his nominating petitions, submitting nearly 300 signatures, triple the amount required to appear on the ballot.
Brown is a candidate for Lehigh County Commissioner District 5, which is comprised of the boroughs of Macungie, Emmaus and Coopersburg, the townships of Upper Milford, Lower Milford, Upper Saucon, and Salisbury and Allentown’s 12th and 13th ward.
“I’ve really enjoyed meeting so many new friends and neighbors these past three weeks,” Brown said. “They are the backbone of the community and I appreciate the trust they put in me to represent them.”
Brown also talked of the importance of voting in local elections: “Each of our communities is unique. We need representation by someone who is from our community and who understands the issues that we face every day.”
Brown currently serves on the Emmaus Borough Council, a position he has held for the past 10 years. Over his tenure, he has worked to improve the infrastructure and safety of Emmaus, while saving taxpayers over $500,000. He accomplished this by improving processes and operations in public works, the borough hall, the ambulance corps and the police department.
Brown resides in Emmaus with his wife, Elizabeth and their two daughters.
