John C. Gudikunst, 75, of South Whitehall Township, died March 7, 2017, at home. He was the husband of Lynn E. (Sabatine) Gudikunst. They were married 48 years June 29, 2016. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Darwin and Hazel (Fordyce) Gudikunst.

He was a health and physical education teacher at Trexler Middle School, Allentown, until retiring. He was a facility manager at Emmaus Aquatic Center and Stonecrest Swim Club, as well as an assistant swimming coach at Emmaus High School.

He was a 1959 graduate of Governor Mifflin High School and a 1963 graduate of East Stroudsburg University. He was a member of the Sigma Pi Fraternity at East Stroudsburg University, was a member of the alumni association board of directors and was recently memorialized with a scholarship fund in his name.

He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Orefield.

He is survived by his wife; daughters, Kim M. and her husband Reid Sadler, of Duluth, Ga. and Amy L. and her husband Eric Suloff, of Portage, Mich.; son, Michael J. husband of Satomi, of Prescott, Ariz.; brother, Ronald and his wife Mary, of Mohnton; sisters, Carol Ann and her husband David Stanislawczyk, of Shillington and Joanne and her husband Robert Werner, of Mohnton; grandchildren, Brayden, Ashlyn, Logan, Isabella, Kyle, Kenji and Misora.
