Howard E. Lilly II

Howard Edward Lilly II, a.k.a. Tiger Lilly, a.k.a. H.H. Lilly, 73, of Zionsville, died March 5, 2017, in the inpatient hospice unit of Lehigh Valley Health Network, Allentown, after battling mantle cell lymphoma for 6-1/2 years. He was the husband of Paula A. (Christman) Lilly. They were married for 49-1/2 years. Born in Oak Park, Ill., he was a son of the late Howard and Helen (White) Lilly.

He was a 1961 graduate of Louis E. Dieruff High School, Allentown.

He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He was stationed in San Antonio, Texas and Anchorage, Alaska and earned the rank of sergeant.

He owned Pc/Pbx Lilly and was previously a field engineer for Honeywell and Datapoint Corp.

He was a member of Old Zionsville United Church of Christ.

He was a 4-H leader and drag, snowmobile, sportsman, late model, mini stock and modified stock driver. He was an owner/driver of the number 18 modified stock car. He ran at Vargo, Hatfield, Allentown Fairgrounds, Grandview, Watkins Glen, Atlantic City, Dorney Park, Nazareth, Reading, Evergreen, Big Diamond and Wall Stadium. He went RVing with Paula at French Creek State Park, Harpers Ferry KOA, W.Va, Atlantic City, Gettysburg, Knoebels and Pinch Pond.

He is survived by his wife; sons, Howard III and his wife Jammie, of Westfield, Mass., Troy and his wife Brandy, of Salem, Mass., Michael and his wife Ann Marie, of Paoli; five grandchildren, Nathanael, Emma, Isabella, Connor, Sean; brothers, David and his wife Brenda, Edward and his wife Donna, of Allentown.

Services will be held 11 a.m. March 25, in the church, 5981 Fountain Road. Arrangements were made by the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., Allentown.
