Elaine G. Keim

Elaine G. Keim, 83, of Emmaus, died March 6, 2017, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of the late Dr. Richard P. Keim, who died June 20, 2016. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Edna (Druckenmiller) Richard.

She was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Emmaus, where she taught Sunday school for many years.

She earned her master’s degree in education from Lehigh University, her Bachelor of Science degree in education from Kutztown University and was a graduate of Sacred Heart School of Nursing, Emmaus High School (Jefferson).

She was a teacher in the East Penn School District for many years until retiring. Previously, she was employed as a registered nurse, working at Sacred Heart Hospital and Phoebe Nursing Home.

She won many awards for her beautiful flower gardens from the Emmaus Garden Club.

She is survived by children, Kerry A. Tichy, of Emmaus, Lisa Taibi, of South Whitehall and Susan L. Butkowski, of Salisbury Township; siblings, Gloria Sieber and George Richard; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren with three more on the way. She was predeceased by children, Debra J. Suydam and Craig S. Sr.; brother, Donald Richard.
