Joseph R. Dispensa, 87, of Whitehall, died March 2, 2017, in his residence.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a son of the late Charles and Mary (Randazzo) Dispensa.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He worked in the garment industry for many years for the former Cross Country Clothes, Greif and Today’s Man.

He was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, Whitehall, for more than 50 years.

He was a past president of and a coach for Coplay Sports.

He is survived by a son, Chuck and his wife Debra of Minnesota; two daughters, Linda and her husband Rick Swika of Peckville and Donna and her husband Gregory Reitenauer of Allentown; a brother, Robert Dispensa of Florida; a sister, Claire Murray of Minnesota; five grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and a companion, Marge Keller of Danieslville.

He was predeceased by Betty, the mother of his three children.
