Elvira Maniatty, 77, of Allentown, died March 6, 2017.

She and her husband George S. Maniatty Sr. were married 56 years last June 11.

Born Aug. 22, 1939, in Staten Island, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Adam T. and Antoinette R. (Bunce) Schildge.

Known as “Elfie” to her friends and family, she enjoyed traveling and visiting friends and family.

She was a volunteer at Good Shepherd Home, Allentown, for many years.

Active in the life of her church, she was a member of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, Trexlertown, where she was a prayer chain leader, choir member, and altar guild member. She also was long standing member of Church of the Mediator prayer group and volunteered helping children in their afterschool program. She led a prayerful life and had the faith of a mustard seed. She knew God’s love, shared God’s love, and was a blessing to all she met. Elfie was known for her generosity, and she especially enjoyed giving gifts. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by children George S. Jr. of Allentown, Dr. William A. and his wife, Pilar, of Cupertino, Calif.,, Dr. Antoinette M. Maniatty and her husband, Kurt S. Anderson, of Ballston Spa, N.Y., Dr. John D. and his wife, Brenda, of Snow Hill, Md.; siblings, Dr. Antonia Malone of Middletown, N.J., Ronald F. Schildge of Johns Island, S.C., George H. Schildge of Colts Neck, N.J.; and seven grandchildren.

She was predeceased by brothers, Adam T. Jr. and Richard L..

Her memorial service will be 2 p.m. March 11 at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, 6667 Lower Macungie Road, Trexlertown, with the Rev. Donald J. Schaible II officiating.

Family and friends may pay their respects 12:30-2 p.m. Saturday in the church.

Spreading of her ashes will follow the service at St. Anne’s Memorial Garden.
