Darlene Gall, 76, of Emmaus, died March 2, 2017, at Phoebe Nursing Home, Allentown. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late William and Daisy (Kneller) Smith. She was raised on the family farm in Emmaus and later built her home on the family’s land of which she was immensely proud.
Because of her love of children, she drove a school bus for the East Penn School District and was among the best drivers in the national bus rodeo competition. She later retired as a driver for Federal Express.
She is survived by a daughter, Michelle and her husband William Gunkle Jr., of Coplay and son, William and his wife Kathy, of Allentown; brother, Harold Smith and his wife Naomi; grandchildren, William, Miranda and Matthew Gunkle and Marcus and Kaitlyn Gall; beloved dog, Missy. She was predeceased by brothers, Carl and Paul Smith.
