Lincoln Leadership:

Lincoln Leadership Academy Charter School brings the 1950s back to life with “Grease.”

Music and lyrics are by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey with additional songs written by John Farrar.

Show times are 7 p.m. March 9, 10, 11 and 3 p.m. March 12, auditorium, Cedar Crest College, Samuels Theatre, Tompkins College Center, 100 College Drive, Allentown.

Adam Soto directs and designed the set for the Lincoln production, assisted by music director Greg Guzevich, choreographer Victor Abreu and student choreographers: Lar-re Brown, Kevon Cody and Marissa Estrella.

Music accompaniment is by Zikora Hamilton, piano; Greg Guzevich, bass; Justin Espinosa and Michael Nole, guitars, and Timothy Guzevich, drums.

Says Soto, “At the heart of the story is the romance between hot-rodding gangster Danny Zuko and the sweet new girl in town, Sandy Dumbrowski. They had a secret romance in summer, but now back in the context of school, peer pressure and cliques make their love a bit more complicated.”

Songs include “Summer Nights,” “Greased Lightnin’” and “We Go Together.” The 1972 Broadway production received seven Tony Award nominations, the 1994 Broadway revival received three Tony nominations and the 2007 Broadway revival received one Tony nomination.

Tickets: 484-860-3300
