Jean Charlotte Rappold, 86, of Lower Macungie Township, died Feb. 19, 2017, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of the late Henry William Rappold. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Henry H. and Jean G. (Leighton) Markert.

She was a legal-medical assistant at Sherline and Novak Law Offices in Allentown, until retiring. Prior to that, she was a legal secretary in Trenton, N.J.

She was a former volunteer at the John and Dorothy Morgan Cancer Center at Lehigh Valley Hospital and was a past-president of the Coterie Club of Allentown (1984-1985).

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Allentown.

She is survived by sons, Henry W. Jr. and his wife Jean, of Lower Macungie Township, Harry Clarkson and his wife Pam of Murrels Inlet, S.C. and Henry E. Clarkson and his wife Pam, of Greencove Springs, Fla.; daughters, Mary Ann Bock, of Medford, N.J. and Jean C. and her husband Robert Madeira, of Allentown; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Thomas E. Clarkson.

Contributions may be made in her memory to the memorial fund at Christ Lutheran Church, 1245 W. Hamilton St., Allentown, 18102.
