Marion S. Butz, 92, formerly of North Whitehall Township, died peacefully, Feb. 6, 2017, in Las Vegas Nev.
She was the wife of the late Norwood C. Butz.
Born June 26, 1924, in Egypt, she was the daughter of the late Harvey E.D. and Elsie V. (Guth) Snyder.
A 1942 graduate of Whitehall High School, she was employed at Phoebe Home, Allentown, and Kraft Foods, Fogelsville, before retiring.
She was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs.
A long-time volunteer with NOVA Auxiliary, she spent countless hours there making bacon dressing in the kitchen.
Her survivors include children David L. Butz and his wife, Dorothy, of Bangor, Faye Bastarache and her husband, Zoel, of Las Vegas, Ellen Jane Butz of Lewes, Del.; grandchildren David, Jr., Phyllis, Miles, Sarah and Elizabeth; great-grandchildren Brandon, Michael, Christian, Emerson, Willow and Zackary; siblings Hilda A. Gower of Whitehall, Annetta “Nettie” M. Geiger of Florida, and Lee S. Snyder and his wife, Ellie, of Walnutport.
She was predeceased by daughters Ruth Ann and Phyllis K. Butz, and a brother Ray G. Snyder.
There will be a memorial service at a later date.
