Richard J. Ascani, 53, of Salisbury Township, died Feb. 17, 2017, in the Hospice House of the VNA of St. Luke’s, Lower Saucon Township. He as the husband of Kathleen Jo (Damon) Ascani. They would have celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary in May. Born in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of Berniece (Kirchhofer) Ascani of Salisbury Township and the late Richard O. Ascani.
He graduated from Bangor High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Moravian College.
He was an underwriter for Guardian Insurance for many years.
He was a member of Assumption of the BVM Church, Bethlehem where he was a PREP teacher.
He is survived by his wife; mother; children, Sophia C. and Lorenzo R., both at home; sisters, Terri and her husband Robert Syvret, Vicki and her husband Douglas Hensinger, all of Salisbury Township; three nieces and three nephews.

Calling hours will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., 274 N. Krocks Road, Allentown and 9:15 to 10:45 a.m. Feb. 23 in Assumption of the BVM Church, 4101 Old Bethlehem Pike, Bethlehem, 18015 followed by Mass 11 a.m.
