Elaine M. Bender, 58, of Moore Township, died Feb. 8, 2017, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg. She was the wife of the late Barry J. Bender for 31 years.

Born in East Stroudsburg, she was a daughter of Frances (Miller) Roth of Marshalls Creek and the late Robert Roth.

She was an East Stroudsburg High School graduate.

She was a custodian at East Stroudsburg High School for several years until she sustained a career-ending work injury.

She is survived by a daughter, Angela and her fiance Mark Biechy of Moore Township; a stepson, Jeremy and his wife Heather Bender of Nazareth, two stepdaughters, Jennifer Bender of Germany and Catherine Acklen of Allentown, four grandchildren, Harley, Angeline, Jax and Ashleigh; a brother, Skip and his wife Jane Roth of East Stroudsburg; and two nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Jonathan A. Bender.
