Joseph Wire Jr.
Joseph Wire Jr., 89, a resident of Fellowship Community, died Feb. 10, 2017, in Lehigh Valley Hospital.
He and his wife Doris (Deppe) Wire were married 67 years.
Born in York, he was a son of the late Joseph and Coletta (Folkenroth) Wire.
A 1946 graduate of Dallastown High School, he attended Lehigh County Community College.
He proudly served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in Texas and Florida during WW II.
He was employed at Fellowship Community, ALPO and Fuller Company.
A faithful member of Whitehall Bible Fellowship Church, he served there as an elder for 35 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Kathy Wallace and husband, Roy, of Ohio; and Pam Kuntzman and husband, Don, of Pennsylvania; grandchildren Josh and Karen Kuntzman, Matt and Stacey Kuntzman, Liz Kuntzman; great-grandchildren Adeline, Zeke, Andrew, and an expected blessing in August; nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was predeceased by a sister Eileen Sowers and brother Mahlon Wire.
His services will be at 11 a.m. Feb. 16 in Whitehall Bible Fellowship Church, 3300 Seventh St., Whitehall, PA 18052, with Pastor Timothy J. Schmoyer officiating.
Viewing 9:30-10:45 a.m. in the church.
Military honors will follow the service at the church. Interment will be private.
A celebration of his life will take place 11 a.m. March 4 in the Zentz Center of Fellowship Community.
