Parkland Education Foundation announces 2017 Inductees for Distinguished Alumni Wall of Honor
The Parkland School District Education Foundation has announced the Distinguished Alumni Wall of Honor Inductees for 2017.
The Wall of Honor was established five years ago and is located inside the main entrance of the high school.
Wall plaques highlight the inductee achievements and include a current photo as well as the inductee’s Parkland senior picture.
The individuals on the wall serve as an inspiration to all students to achieve excellence and remind our entire community of Parkland’s commitment to a quality educational program.
Inductees will be honored May 1 at the foundation’s sixth annual Distinguished Alumni Gala presented by Coordinated Health at the Holiday Inn Conference Center Lehigh Valley.

·Accomplishments in his or her chosen career;
·Volunteer work or acts of service;
·A positive impact on people or contributions to others; and
·Special recognition or awards.
A selection committee comprised of one member from the Parkland Education Foundation Board, the school district’s administration, a seasoned Parkland teacher, a Gala Committee volunteer and a member from the local business community reviewed the applications and scored them using a rubric. The five finalists were then approved by the Foundation Board of Directors.
Formed in the fall of 2011, the Parkland School District Education Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit, tax-exempt organization raising funds in support of the academics, arts, and athletic programs in the school district for the benefit of students and staff in order to preserve a tradition of excellence and help build the dreams of children in our community.
To date, the foundation has given more than $635,000 back to the school district in the form of 245 Celebrate Innovation Grants for staff, the purchasing of equipment for the Engineering Program at the high school, a major upgrade to all TV studios in the district and expanding the Makerspace program to all eight elementary schools in 2016.
