Donald A. Popik, 73, of Wescosville, died Feb. 12, 2017, at the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. Born in Coaldale, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Goida) Popik.

He was a 1961 graduate of Coaldale High School and worked for Consolidated Freightways for 38 years until his retirement.

He is survived by his former wife and caretaker, Joanne Popik with whom he resided; sons, Christopher and companion Diana, of Nazareth and David, of Philadelphia; sister, Carol Ann and husband Michael Machain, of Bethlehem; brother, Robert and his wife Carol, of Lakeland, Fla.; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by wife, Mearl (Morris) Popik; brothers, Joseph and William and sister-in-law, Patricia.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Lehigh Valley Hospice, 2024 Lehigh St., Allentown, 18103-4799.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Feb. 16 in the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, 16th and Hamilton streets, Allentown. A calling hour will be held 10 to 11 a.m. Feb. 16 in the funeral home.
