Dorothy T. Wallach

Dorothy T. “Dotty” Wallach, 87, formerly of East Highland Street, Allentown, died peacefully Feb. 3, 2017.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Ignatz and Anna (Billowitz) Sauerzopf.

She was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church.

A 1947 graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School, she worked in the clean room of Western Electric and Lucent Technologies for many years before retiring in 1997.

Early in life, she worked in the family business Dutch Maid Noodles.

A dedicated volunteer at Sacred Heart Hospital for more than 35 years, she loved to read, watch movies and travel all over the world.

Her survivors include a daughter Pamela A. DeAngelo and her husband, Michael, of Allentown; sons Theodore M. Wallach and his wife, Maria T., of Swedesboro, N.J., Michael T. Wallach and his wife, Karen, of Portland, Ore.; grandchildren Kevin, Chrissy and her husband, Chad; sister Louise Morris and her husband, David, of Leola; and a brother Alfred “Fritz” Sauerzopf and his wife, Angela, of Whitehall.

She was predeceased by her sister Helen Rothrock.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father John S. Pendzick 10 a.m. Feb. 11 in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 618 Fullerton Ave., Whitehall, where her family will receive guests starting at 9 a.m. in the foyer.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lehigh County Humane Society, 640 Dixon St., Allentown, PA 18103 or to the church, 618 Fullerton Ave., Whitehall, PA 18052.

Arrangements were made by Gilbert Funeral Home, Whitehall.
