William A. Frederick, 84, of Emmaus, died Jan. 31, 2017. He was the husband of Nancy (Schmoyer) Frederick for 60 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of Henry and Mary (Scherer) Frederick.

Following retirement he was a volunteer for Turning Point and the Emmaus Public Library.

He was an active member of Amnesty International and a member of the former Salem U.C.C.

He is survived by his wife; daughter, Jennifer and her husband William Ware, of Newtown Square; grandchildren, Jessica Petrohoy, Benjamin, Gabrielle and Alexander Ware; sister, Joan Boufford, of Miami Lakes, Fla. He was predeceased by a son Christopher.

Contributions may be made to the expansion fund of the Emmaus Public Library, 11 East Main St., Emmaus, 18049 or to St. Luke’s Hospice, 240 Union Station Plaza, Bethlehem, 18015.
