Kermit C. Von der Heiden

Kermit C. Von der Heiden Jr. 83, of Zionsville, died Feb. 5, 2017, in Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Edith S. (Setterstone) Von der Heiden. They were married 51 years. Born in Staten Island, N.Y., he was the son of the late Rose M. (Serena) and Kermit C. Von der Heiden Sr.

He worked as a banker, retiring in 1992 as vice president of loans/chief loan officer of Fidelity Bank.

He was a member of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, Trexlertown, serving on the finance committee.

He had a love of flying and attained his private pilot’s license, commercial pilot’s license and instrument rating.

He is survived by his wife; daughters, Edythe May and her husband Stephen Alexander, of Annapolis, Md. and Serena Faith and her husband Dr. Peter J. Roland, of Zionsville; brother, Kenneth R. and his wife Joan, of Sutter Creek, Calif.; grandchildren, Dr. Joshua P. Roland, Malachi J. Roland, Esq., Takoda H. Roland, Kessiah S. Roland, R.N., Ian Shayne Alexander, Ariana May Alexander and Evan Rhyse Alexander.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Feb. 9 in St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, 6667 Lower Macungie Road, Trexlertown. Visitation is 10 to 11 a.m. in the church. Arrangements were made by the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus.
