Valeria T. Flyte

Valeria T. “Val” Flyte, 79, of The Lutheran Community at Topton, formerly of Quarry Street, Fullerton, Whitehall Township, died peacefully Jan. 24, 2017.

She and her husband Stanley N. Flyte were married 43 years.

Born at the family home in Salisbury Township, she was a daughter of the late Elek and Teresa R. (Shiner) Takacs.

She was an active member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall, serving as an usher, assisting in the kitchen and serving as Bible schoolteacher.

A 1955 graduate of Fountain Hill High School, she was a longtime beautician in Salisbury Township and later was assistant manager of the Salon at J.C. Penney.

A wonderful cook, she was especially known for her baking and making kiffles.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter Melissa Horvath and her husband, Brian, son Dean Flyte and his wife, Sheri, daughter Dawn Stenlake; six grandchildren; and sister Theresa R. Takacs of Allentown.

She was predeceased by sister Charlotte E. Takacs in 2010.
