Ethel Joyce Wagner, 87, a longtime resident of Fullerton, Whitehall Township, died peacefully Jan. 23, 2017, in Fellowship Community.
She and her late husband William J. Wagner were married 32 years at the time of his death in 1989.
Born in Egypt, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Mary (Yakubecek) Svaby.
A 1947 graduate of Whitehall High School, she attended Mary Washington College in Virginia.
She was a very active member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Whitehall, where she assisted in the kitchen and office, and was a life member of WELCA.
A life member of the Lehigh County Senior Center, 50-plus year member of the quarter century club, and member of St. Catherine’s Golden Agers, she enjoyed playing cards, bingo and going to the casinos with her friends.
Her survivors include a daughter Mary Wagner-Smith of Allentown; sons David M. Wagner and wife, Danielle Lapierre, of Allentown, William A. Wagner and wife Yvonne (Sassani) of Havertown; stepdaughter Eileen Evans and husband Keith of Arizona; grandchildren Chantel, Elisabeth, Shane, Christina, Julianne, Benjamin and Lana; step-grandchildren Christopher and Scott Haff; and step-great-grandchildren Kaitlyn and Meghan.
She was predeceased by sisters Ruth Bittner and Margaret Boyer and a brother George Svaby.
