Lester F. Tarnopolski

Lester F. Tarnopolski, 93, of Bethlehem, died Jan. 7, 2017, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg campus. He was the husband of the late Ann M. (Kistler) Tarnopolski for 49 years.

Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Stanley and Frances (Tartar) Tarnoposkli.

He was a 1941 Palmerton High School graduate.

He was in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater of Operations and was awarded a Purple Heart and three Bronze Stars.

He retired in 1981 after many years working in the production department of Lucent Alcatel. He had earlier owned a gas station in Palmerton.

He is survived by a sister, Florence Boose of Perkasie; nieces; nephews and extended family.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Violet Newton and Geraldine Stengel; and a brother, Walter Tarnopolski.
