Marie L. Sander, 92, of Gainesville, Fla., formerly of Schnecksville, died Jan. 17, 2017, in North Florida Regional Hospital, Gainesville.

She was the wife of the late Herman E. Sander Jr.

Born Feb. 15, 1924, in Newside, she was the daughter of the late Allen J. and Irene E. (Follweiler) Rau.

A Slatington High School graduate, she was a legal secretary for the law offices of Martin H. Phillip, Palmerton, for many years before retiring.

She was a member of Assumption B.V.M. Roman Catholic Church, Slatington.

Her survivors include daughters Joan M. Bachman and her husband, Kermit, with whom she resided; Gail P. Sander-Kirchoff and her husband, Todd, of Peyton, Colo.; grandchildren Kristin M. Dasta and her husband, Robert, Michael A. Quinlan and his wife, Teresa; great-granddaughters Kayla M. Dasta, Mayan Perkins and Tandeway Perkins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Jan. 27 at Assumption B.V.M. Roman Catholic Church, 633 W. Washington St., Slatington.

The Rev. Eric R. Arnout will be the celebrant.

Family and friends may pay their respects 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday in Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville.

Interment will follow the Mass at Ebenezer Church Cemetery, New Tripoli.
