Jan. 26: Middle School Parent University, Springhouse Middle School auditorium, from 7-8 p.m. Sports Nutrition Basics for Teen Athletes will be presented by Jennifer M. Doane, MS, RD, CSSD, LDN, ATC Registered dietitian, board certified specialist in sports dietetics and certified athletic trainer.

Students are welcome to attend with their parents.

Jan. 27: Early dismissal. High school and middle school dismiss at 1 p.m. Elementary schools dismiss 1:45 p.m. First semester ends.

Jan. 29: Lehigh Valley Hoop Group Showcase, noon, at high school. The showcase is a high school basketball tradition now enters its 20th year. It flaunts the Lehigh Valley’s premier basketball talent, and brings in teams from outside the area and state, to share in the exhilarating atmosphere of Lehigh Valley High School Hoops. In past years, the Lehigh Valley Showcase has featured many current NBA players, such as Kyrie Irving of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist of the Charlotte Hornet, and Tyreke Evans of the Sacramento Kings.

Feb. 1: Letter of intent signing, in high school gym, at 3:30 p.m. Celebrate Parkland athletes who commit to attend a university and play a sport.

Feb. 4: Mr. Parkland Contest, high school auditorium, 7 p.m.

Feb. 4: Parents of all students who will be new to Parkland for kindergarten or first grade this fall should call their neighborhood elementary school for an appointment.
