Daniel D. Minnich

Daniel D. Minnich, 55, of Laurys Station, died Dec. 29, 2016, in the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia.

He and his wife Pamela S. (Schnell) Minnich were married 28 years.

Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Daniel and Elia (Vasilawsky) Minnich.

A graduate of Palmerton High School and the former Breeden School of Welding, Allentown, he was a welder for Electro-Space Fabricators, Topton, for 28 years until he retired.

He was a self-employed photographer and ski instructor and the race team coach at Blue Mountain Ski Area, Palmerton, for many years.

He attended services at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Big Creek, Lehighton.

A member of International Brotherhood of Magicians, he played men’s slow-pitch softball for North Whitehall Township and was a former coach of youth lacrosse for Schnecksville Playground Association.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Daniel III of Laurys Station; sister Kim Cooley of Wayne; parents-in-law Erwin Schnell and his wife of Palmerton; sisters-in-law Wanda and her husband Barry Crown of Stroudsburg and Susan and her husband Barry Eckhart of Laurys Station; brothers-in-law, Glen and his wife Diane Schnell of Bowmanstown and Aaron and his wife Jean Schnell of Lehighton.
