Virginia C. Leland, 79, of Northampton, died Jan. 11, 2017, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Bernard Leland, whom she married in 1965.

Born in Queens, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Nara (Congavara) Mazzola.

She was employed by Whitehall-Coplay School District in housekeeping, retiring in 1997. Prior to that, she worked at Agere Inc. in housekeeping for five years.

She was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, Northampton.

She is survived by three sons, Vincent B. and his wife Ruth Leland of Palmerton, Frank C. and his wife Julie Leland of Northampton, and Bernard L. and his wife Debra Leland of Catasauqua; two brothers, Phillip and his wife Alice of Long Island, N.Y. and Frank Mazzola of Queens, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

She was predeceased by a granddaughter; two brothers; and a sister.
