High school: Don’t forget: Turn in your absentee notes

Students are reminded to turn their absentee notes to the high school main office as soon as possible. If a note is not received, your absence will be marked as unexcused or illegal.

Because it is the end of the marking period, it is your responsibility to submit your absentee note in a timely manner.

Multiple job opportunities exist in the Lehigh Valley for eligible Catasauqua High School students. Employers such as Kmart, Federal Express, Blue Mountain Ski area, Sky Zone Trampoline Park, Dempsey Uniform and Helfrich Springs Apartments are all looking for qualified applicants or candidates to fill open positions. Interested students should stop by the high school guidance office for more information.

Entry-level job opportunities also exist with the Pennsylvania Department of Education and PennDOT for recently graduated high school students who have an interest in working in clerical, trades, labor and tourism fields.

In addition to these positions, they are also looking for individuals for their winter maintenance program that runs each year from October through March. If interested apply at employment.pa.gov. Select “Job Opportunities” under the non-civil service heading; on the next page select “Clerical Support Positions,” “Facilities Laborers/Custodial Positions,” “Automotive/Diesel Mechanic Positions,” and/or “Public Relations and Marketing Positions,” and then click “Apply” to begin the application process. For seasonal positions, select “Penn-DOT Winter Maintenance Program.”
