Gertrud Knerr

Gertrud “Trudel” Knerr, 75, beloved wife and mother, of Orefield, died Jan. 13, 2017, at home after a heroic fight with cancer.

Her faith in the Lord was unwavering and will remain an inspiration to us all.

Her beautiful smile will continue to warm our hearts.

She was the wife of Reinhard H. Knerr for 48 years this past June.

Born in Nagold, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Oskar and Elisabeth (Teufel) Weiss.

She was a member of Jordan Lutheran Church, Orefield.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons, Reinhard M. and wife Kim of Paducah, Ky., Christoph and wife Kara of Albuquerque, N.M., Matthias and wife Camas of Madison, N.J., and Peter and wife Mary of Charlottesville, Va.; sisters Lilli wife of Günter Bareiss of Germany and Ursula Weiss of Germany; and six grandchildren Matthew, Hannah, Andrew. Sam, Lucy and Eli.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Jan. 19 at Keller Funeral Home, 1018 Church St., Fogelsville.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday.

Interment will be in Jordan Lutheran Church Cemetery.
