Salisbury Middle School will host a formal winter dance 7 to 9 p.m. Jan. 20.
The SMS student council is running a Pennies for Patients fundraiser during the month of February.
A kickoff assembly will be held 8:30 a.m. Jan. 28. A student in the district who had leukemia will also attend.
Other events include dress down days for teachers, students selling Pennies for Patients bracelets, parent drop off donations, penny wars between advisory groups and a hat day where students can wear hats if they make a donation.

The Western Salisbury Elementary PTA is having a general meeting and chili/chowder cook-off 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 26.
On Jan. 27, the school schedule does a little bit of a flip flop. Every school has an early dismissal, but instead of the high school and middle school getting out first, the elementary schools will. Harry S Truman and WSE dismiss 11:15 a.m. and Salisbury High School and SMS dismiss 12:15 p.m.
There will be a curriculum and technology committee meeting 7 p.m. Jan. 30 at HST.
The second Coffee and Conversation with the school superintendents will be held 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. Jan. 30 at the administration building. RSVP to Mary Bishop at 610-797-2062, ext. 1000.
Did you know the Allentown Public Library shows indie films for free one Saturday afternoon a month? At 2 p.m. Jan. 28, the library will show “Men Go to Battle.” The story is about two brothers in Kentucky during the Civil War. Please note, this movie is for those 17 and older.
