Frances M. Davies

Frances M. Davies, 93, formerly of Orefield, died Jan. 4, 2017, in Valley Manor Nursing Center, Coopersburg.

She was the widow of Jerome T. Davies.

Born in Cincinnatus, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Marie (Lauer) Crossley.

Known to everyone as Sis, she was a layout operator at Western Electric for 20 years.

She loved to sew and share her creations with others.

Multiple animal shelters and nursing homes benefited from her talent and generosity. In addition to making and donating pet beds and walker bags, she collected and donated many items to people in need through her church.

She lived a full life and had the opportunity to travel all over the world with her husband.

She made friends everywhere she went, whether it was the airport, a restaurant, or a line at the grocery store.

She struck up conversations with every person she encountered in her day to day life, and her outgoing personality and feisty wit drew people in naturally.

She loved each member of her family unconditionally, and was known for regaling everybody with funny anecdotes at family gatherings.

She touched many lives, and undoubtedly made the world a better place.

Her survivors include daughter Sara Werley of Orefield; son Jerome T. Davies Jr. and wife, Anna, of Winter Haven, Fla.; grandchildren Susan Ross, Glen and Robb Werley, Kent and Jody Davies; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by bothers James and Jack Crossley, and a sister LaRae Williams.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Jan. 12 at Keller Funeral Home, 1018 Church St., Fogelsville.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m.

Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Allentown.
