Edward R. Berger, 59, of Slatington, died on Jan. 8, 2017, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

Born June 12, 1957, in Allentown, he was the son of the late Pearl (Berger) Hamm.

He owned and operated E.R.B. Paving and Excavating Inc., Slatington, since 1996.

His survivors include children Carissa L. Young, Justin E. Berger, Daniel N. Petrohoy, Austin E. Berger, Jarret W., Dylan Q. and Noah E. Berger; siblings Eugene Hamm Jr., LeRoy, David and Paul Berger, Darlene Miller and Anna Marasco; and two grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother Russell Berger.

Family and friends may pay their respects 9-11 a.m. Jan. 13 in Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville.

A private graveside service will follow the calling period at Union Church Cemetery, Neffs.
