At a brief reorganization meeting last week, Upper Milford supervisors elected George DeVault to a third term as chairman. Daniel Mohr was named vice-chairman. They were both nominated by Supervisor Robert Sentner.
All the other appointments and resolutions on the agenda were adopted unanimously and with little or no discussion. They included reappointing Sentner as the board’s representative to the Lehigh County Authority and DeVault to the Agricultural Security Board.
Supervisors also reappointed Francis Caputo and Phil Hartranft to the open space committee for three-year terms expiring Jan. 2, 2020, and Caputo to the zoning hearing board for a term to expire Dec. 31, 2021.
They acknowledged Wendy Ashby as the recreation committee’s representative on the open space committee for a three-year term, reappointed Lawrence Butler as an alternate on the zoning hearing board, also for a three-year term and reappointed John Hayes to the vacancy board for the prescribed annual term.
Lisa Haas and Joyce Moore were both reappointed to three-year terms on the Joint Emmaus/Upper Milford Environmental Advisory Council.
Supervisors also accepted Philip Vanim’s resignation from the recreation committee and agreed to thank him for his service. In a letter to the board, Vanim said other commitments are making it difficult for him to continue to serve.
