Donald T. Rohrbach

Donald T. Rohrbach, 83, of Alburtis, died peacefully with his family by his side, Jan. 3, 2017, in the emergency department of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Marian E. (Dries) Rohrbach. They were married 62 years. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Herbert and Elsie (Fogel) Rohrbach.

He honorably and faithfully served our country as a member of the United States Army.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Macungie.

He was employed as a parts manager at Kelly Buick and Kelly Ford, Emmaus. He also worked as a retail clerk for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board at various stores in the Lehigh Valley, working until his retirement in 2007.

He was a member of Lehigh Lodge #326 F. & A.M., Lehigh Consistory, Rajah Shrine, Reading, Mercantile Club, Emmaus and the Alburtis Rod & Gun Club, Alburtis.

He is survived by his wife; nephew whom they raised, William J. “Bill” Meck, companion of Louise J. (Reinert) Eppel, of Alburtis; grandniece, Miranda M. (Meck) and her husband Benjamin F. Swatsky, of Coopersburg and a grandnephew, John W. and his wife, Jocelyn K. (Nagle) Meck, of Laureldale; great-grandnieces, Cora M. and Hazel A. Swatsky; additional nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; longtime caregiver, Lisa (Ortiz) Marrero, of Freemansburg, Northampton County. He was predeceased by sisters, Irene, Ruth, Margaret, Jean, Virginia and Janet; brothers, Robert, Herbert Jr. and Richard.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Grace Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 28 W. Main St., Macungie, 18062 or Alzheimer’s Association, Delaware Valley Chapter, 399 Market St., Suite 102, Philadelphia, 19106. Arrangements were made by the Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., Topton.
