Coplay library: Don’t let the cold keep you away
Feeling a little fatigued by the holiday rush - or just not a winter person? Coplay has received a little snow, and the temperatures have been dropping to bone-chilling days. This quiet season can seem endless to some of us.
Did you make a New Year’s resolution? Whether you did or not, how about trying an easy one? Plan to visit the library regularly this year. If you haven’t been here recently, you can see our new carpet and rearrangement.
The staff has been busy planning activities and displays that will keep you informed and entertained during these chilly days.

As a reminder, storytime and crafts with Miss Veronica will be held 11 a.m. today (Jan. 12), Jan. 19 and 26.
No preregistration is necessary, and all ages are welcome.
***
“Your Favorite Authors” exhibit will be in the display case during January. The authors will be determined by counting the number of books by those writers who were checked out last year. Start guessing!
***
Right in time for red carpet and statuettes, we will have a display of “Your Favorite Movies.” Winners will be determined the same as the authors.
Don’t worry - designer wear and endless speeches are not required!
***
All are invited to attend our Scrabble night 5-7 p.m. Jan. 30. Increase your skills, and have fun!
***
Make a blind date with a book. Celebrate Valentine’s Day by choosing a book that we will cover. Take a chance and meet a new author.

Remember you also can visit the library by downloading e-books and audio books onto your e-reader, tablet or computers through the Overdrive system. Overdrive is a service offered through the Carbon-Lehigh Downloadable Library.
It’s easy to get started. If you are a resident of the borough and have a Coplay Public Library card, we can provide you with a password to access the system. If you don’t have a library card, bring in a form of identification; registration takes just a few minutes. New to Coplay? You also will need a document, like an electric bill, that shows current residency.
We will be happy to answer questions or to assist anyone with a new device.

Our next book sale isn’t until April, but we welcome book donations all year. We do not accept VHS tapes, textbooks, encyclopedias, Reader’s Digest condensed books or any items that have been damaged by smoke or are dirty, ripped or torn.
All donations are tax deductible, and you can sign up to receive a thank-you letter.
You can drop off any donations during the library’s regular hours.
For safety concerns, please do not use the book drop for donations.

Remember, in case of inclement weather, you can check to see if we are open by following the WFMZ Storm Center. We do not charge fines for any days we are closed because of weather.
