Bank robbery: Bath resident arraigned on robbery charges

Cleon Edwards, 49, of Old Forge Drive, Bath, was arraigned Jan. 6 at Northampton County Central Booking for charges related to a bank robbery earlier that day at PNC Bank, 202 N. Walnut St., Bath.

According to a news release from Colonial Regional Police Department, at 4:55 p.m., an alert customer called Northampton County dispatch and reported a masked man had entered the bank. Shortly after, PNC Bank reported the robbery, adding the suspect, wearing a ski mask, gloves and a green jacket, fled the bank with money in a tan minivan.

The van was spotted by Colonial Regional Police Department units at Penn Jersey Gas Station, just south of Bath. Edwards was taken into custody there, according to the report.

Colonial Regional Police Department was assisted by Moore Township Police Department and Pennsylvania State Police.
