Walter B. Newman Jr., 84, of Allentown, died Dec. 20, 2016, in his home. He was the husband of the late Marjorie L. (Pierce) Newman. They shared 46 years of marriage. Born in Wilkes Barre, he was the son of the late Sarah Ellen (Sorber) Newman Clauser and Walter B. Newman Sr.

He served his country honorably in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1956 to 1960.

He was a toolmaker for Bonney Forge 36 years, retiring in 1997.

He was a member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Allentown.

He is survived by a daughter, April and her husband Russell Braun, of Allentown. He was predeceased by a sister, Arlene Nagy.
