Amanda Kesselring, stationed in Fort Sam Houston, Texas, is completing her AIT (Advanced Individual Training) as a combat medic in the Army, building mental strength, as well as physical training. Kesselring recently obtained her National EMS Certification at the medical technician level and successfully passed the cognitive and psychomotor examinations.
The NREMT emblem signifies Kesselring tested to rigorous, valid and uniform standards, as well as a duty to protect the public and the nation. Presently, Kesselring is studying hands-on field training as a health care specialist - or “Army combat medic” with 68 Whiskey. The training requires 10 weeks of basic combat training and 16 weeks of AIT, concentrating on patient care and emergency medical techniques to wounded soldiers in the battlefield.
