Marilyn H. Smith, 80, of Whitehall, died Dec. 28, 2016, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg campus, Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late Donald R. Smith.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late George and Mildred (Peters) Engler.

She was a custodian for Whitehall-Coplay School District for 10 years until she retired in 1986. She then worked for General Cinema/AMC for several years.

She was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Egypt, where she was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the choir and bell choir.

She was a leader for Girl Scout Troop 892, Egypt, for 13 years.

She is survived by three daughters, Debra J. and her husband James Ford of Marina, Calif., Donna L. Wirth of Northampton and Susan K. and her husband Walter Roberts of Northampton; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; stepgrandchildren; and stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a sister, Norma E. Stewart.
