John H. Bryk Sr., 79, of Whitehall, died Jan. 1, 2017, at home. He was the husband of Charlotte (Wentz) Bryk for 57 years.
Born in Shenandoah, Schuylkill County, he was a son of the late John J. and Emily J. (Grochowski) Bryk.
He was a J.W. Cooper High School graduate.
He was in the U.S. Marine Corps for five years.
Following his retirement from the trucking industry, he worked for 12 years for Miller-Keystone Blood Center.
He was a member of American Legion Post 367, Fullerton.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, John H. Jr. and his wife Anna-Marie; a granddaughter, Emily J. Bryk; and a brother, Louis J. Bryk of Huntersville, N.C.
He was predeceased by a sister, Alexandra Caddy.
There will be a visitation 8:30-9:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial 10 a.m., both Jan. 7 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, the funeral home, 618 Fullerton Ave., Whitehall, 18052. Internment will follow at Grandview Cemetery, Allentown.
