Emmaus crowned three champions at the Battle of the Beach Wrestling Tournament last week at Indian River High School in Dagsboro, Delaware.
The Hornets’ Payton Brown (106 pounds), Tyler Corpora (145) and Reed Custer (160) all earned titles in their respective weight classes. Custer earned the tournament’s Most Outstanding Wrestler Award to lead Emmaus to a third-place team finish with 203 points. Sussex Central (211) and Cape Henlopen (206.5) took the top two places.
Caden Wright (152) took second place in his weight class.
Jacob Alcaro (138) and Jarred Skibinski (170) both reached consolation finals and came out on top for third place. Gabe Ayala Schray (120) won his fifth place match, while James Bowie (113) and Bryce Ebinger (182) took sixth place at the tournament.
