Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grimm announced in a release recently the death of a young Bethlehem man in what he determined was a homicide.

Around 8:45 p.m. aug. 28, 26-year-old Jonathan Diaz-Santos was allegedly shot in the 900 block of Seneca Street in Fountain Hill. He was pronounced dead at St. Luke’s Hospital about 35 minutes later.

The police, coroner’s office and Lehigh County homicide task force are investigating.

Fountain Hill Police Chief Ed Bachert said this was the first homicide in the borough in over 19 years.
