The non-profit State Theatre Center for the Arts, Easton, is holding a 2016 Year End Giving Campaign for donations to support a “green” project that includes an LED conversion for the main theater hall and stage area, including the chandelier, and exterior security lights.
The goal for the 2016 Bright Future Campaign is $40,000.
The project will potentially save up to 80 percent annually in energy costs, thanks to highly efficient LED bulbs that last 10 times longer than incandescent bulbs that are in use.
At the same time, the new lighting is expected to enhance the quality of the performances in the theater.
“Lighting is important in every aspect of show business, and the amount of light bulbs we use in our facility is huge,” said State Theatre President and CEO Shelley Brown.
“We are always looking for ways to lower operating costs and be environmentally friendly. We have found LED lights and a dimmer system that will help us maintain our luster and accomplish those goals.
“Our community has helped us keep our historic building in great shape. This is one more very special way to help,” Brown said.
Tax Deductible Contributions can be made to: State Theatre Bright Future Campaign, 453 Northampton St., Easton, Pa. 18042, or online at statetheatre.org
Past successful campaigns have resulted in improvements to the historic theatre’s curtain, roof and interior plaster.
